Highway 2000 East-West Shows Environmental Consciousness with Tree Planting Project

Both the Developer and the Operator of Highway 2000 East-West (TransJamaican Highway Limited and JIO respectively) joined forces with NROCC and the Forestry Department on Labour Day 2021 for a tree planting project near Williamsfield Manchester.

While respecting safety protocols, volunteers pitched in and worked hard to plant 400 trees in the area!

In keeping with the goal of supporting a more sustainable environment, the project took place close to the newest leg of the highway currently under construction.

The activity was also in support of the Government’s “Three Million Trees in Three Years” national initiative.
